Integration

• I just had a REAL LATTE, for the first time since I got here. It was in a glass rather than a styrofoam cup. It was layered. It was good.
• I am wearing trousers, for the first time since I got here. They are black and sort of shiny.
• I am wearing my Love Kylie knickers, for the first time since I got here. I have decided that I don't need a reasonable expectation of an audience, to wear fancy knickers.
• Last night I went on a real, formal date, for the first time since I got here. We watched porn, but it was Art, so that was OK. We had dinner at a real restaurant. Instead of trying to track down a decent bar afterwards, we went home and had tea and talked. She wanted to see my writing. So I read out some of my work, for the first time since I got here.
• I am doing my laundry at a laundromat, for the first time since I got here (my new place has no internal laundry, sadly). So I have taken up residence at the cafe next door till it is done. It feels terribly American. I am using their computer admiring the pretty, bright blue day outside.

  I have found and read the gay press, for the first time since I got here. I could not find any 'Scene Out' photos, which was disappointing, but I did like their "Porn Report" page.

I am relaxed and optimistic today. I hope Mardi Gras has ROCKED YOUR WORLDS. There is a big play party on tonight and I think I will go with every expectation of opportunity.
